The Glue FactoryFriday 1st October 2010 The Glue Factory is Heifervescent’s 5th album and is out now. Some of these tracks go back to 2002 when they just didn’t fit with the album that was being produced at the time. After the 4 previous Heifervescent albums, it was time to get all these isolated tracks glued together in an album of their own.
Commercial tracksFriday 21st May 2010 I have a lot of unused tracks that never get past the lyrics stage, so rather than just letting them fade away, I’ve polished some of them up, remixed and made them available as commercial pieces for use with motion graphics, video and websites. You can buy them for as little as $8 for a royalty free license at Audiojungle.
Review from FrostClickWednesday 28th April 2010 Pondlife Fiasco by Heifervescent - Indie Pop Rock with Shimmering Guitars Jangly mixed up pop rock music from Andy Doran’s head. Heifervescent is essentially Andy Doran creating beautiful, sullen, sometimes dark but often melodramatic songs for his own and everybody else’s pleasure. Doran echoes a Britpop flair in almost all his compositions and creates a nice synth orchestra background. Pondlife Fiasco is filled with 10 tracks that deal with various topics and subjects. It might not be an album that sends cupids arrow straight on like love at first sight, but it definitely gets to you after a couple of listens.
His melodies as well as his soothing vocals force you to listen to the lyrics; taking note of everything that he’s saying. There are 10 fun tracks for you to choose from, each one is loaded with shimmering guitars and poppy beats. Doran was previously a member of alternative band Monkeyland as their singer and songwriter. After it fizzled out, they went on to create Cannula after Monkeyland’s ex-vocalist David Spencer developed this problem. Pondlife Fiasco is the fourth album released by Doran under his moniker Heifervescent. This is definitely a great album that grows on you after several listens. You get fun tracks that are perfect for an afternoon lounge in your favorite little spot. If this one doesn’t quite make it for you, you have three other albums from Heifervescent to choose from all under a creative commons license.
Heifervescent on JamendoThursday 26th February 2009 I now have 4 albums on Jamendo which is a great Creative Commons site. As far as Heifer stuff is concerned, there’s nothing there that you can’t listen to here (though it might save me some bandwidth costs!!!), but it does let you find some really good new (and old) undiscovered talent from artists who are willing to let you download and play all their tracks for free. Occasionally the site seems to slow down a little, but I presume this is just caused by the demands on the servers. Have a browse for new stuff at Jamendo: http://www.jamendo.com/en/artist/Heifervescent/
Creative Commons LicenseThursday 19th February 2009 So, just to explain the creative commons license… If you click the creative commons license information at the bottom of the page or: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.0/uk/ then this states that you can copy, distribute, display, perform the work and make derivatives free of charge AS LONG AS you attribute the work to Andy Doran. If you alter, transform, or build upon this work, you may distribute the resulting work ONLY under a licence identical to this one. You can’t automatically use this work for commercial purposes… BUT if you contact me and discuss the project - then we can talk about it more. This license is only applicable to works by Heifervescent or Andy Doran (Commercial Tracks). Works by Cannula and Monkeyland have full rights reserved.
A man’s gotta eat!Monday 9th February 2009 I’ve added a few commercial tracks that I’ve composed and produced over the last few years - well a man’s gotta earn a bit of dough now and again!!! - especially when he’s giving all the rest of his music away with a Creative Commons License. There’s just a few tracks here, some from a job I did for advertising agency: Love Creative in Manchester who wanted some music to accompany short videos about the Umbro campaign they were working on, which meant composing tracks suitable for Michael Owen, Deco and John Terry… well I don’t know what Michael Owen’s taste in music is… and I don’t think I want to, I’m sure it’s nothing like anything on here… but the tracks worked well for the videos and Love were happy. They even got me to record a cheesy England chant version… my life is complete!
